This report, required by the California Department of Education, describes the impacts of COVID-19 and changes to the district's instructional program, especially in regards to meeting the needs of students who are considered underrepresented in our district. Comments (-1) Emergency Childcare for Essential Workers MPCSD in partnership with Newton Center Inc. offers childcare for the children of essential workers during the Shelter in Place. Childcare is located at Laurel School's Lower Campus at 95 Edge Rd in Atherton. It serves children aged 3-13 years and offers sliding tuition and daily or weekly registration. Comments (-1) 2020-21 School Calendar The Menlo Park City School District School Board has approved the Instructional Calendar for the 2020-21 School Year . The first day of school will be August 20, 2020. Comments (-1) 2020-21 Priority Kindergarten registration has ended. However, all new K-8 students for Fall 2020 may continue registering. Comments (-1) MPCSD's Whole Child Learning & Development Framework As part of our Strategic Directions refocusing effort, the MPCSD School Board and Leadership Team have developed our Whole Child Learning & Development Framework that outlines the five strategic elements that reflect the priorities upon which the district will focus its time, energy, and resources over the next three years. The design of the Framework reinforces our district’s belief that student and adult well being, relationships, and collaboration are foundational to the success of our more academic and cognitive efforts: Learner Centered, Competency & Evidence Based, and Meaningful Work. The success of the Framework as a model of how MPCSD delivers its program will be measured by asking how well every child is engaging, achieving, and thriving. We are excited to share this graphic as a visual representation of how these five elements connect with each other, and we look forward to the renewed energy the Framework brings around what MPCSD's priorities are.
